Female Hurricanes Hockey ProgramThe Campbell River Minor Hockey Association (CRMHA) Female Hurricanes Program provides girls ages 5-18 with the opportunity to learn, develop, compete, and thrive in a supportive all-female hockey environment.
Whether your daughter is stepping onto the ice for the very first time or is an experienced player looking to continue her hockey journey, the Hurricanes Program offers a positive and welcoming atmosphere focused on skill development, teamwork, confidence, and fun.
Players may choose to participate in the Female Hurricanes Program, the Co-Ed Recreation Program, or both through the Female Development Add-On, depending on their goals and interests.
Female hockey is one of the fastest-growing sports in Canada, and for good reason.
Playing hockey helps girls:
Build confidence and resilience
Develop leadership and teamwork skills
Form lifelong friendships
Stay active and healthy
Learn valuable life skills both on and off the ice
Pursue opportunities at higher levels of hockey
Many players find they gain confidence by learning and competing alongside other girls who share the same passion for the game.
Female hockey can open doors to opportunities such as Team BC, high-performance programs, post-secondary hockey, scholarships, coaching, officiating, and leadership opportunities within the sport.
The Hurricanes Program is built around development, inclusion, and community.
Players benefit from:
A welcoming and supportive team environment
Dedicated coaches focused on player development
Opportunities to compete against female teams from across Vancouver Island
Tournament experiences and travel opportunities
Flexible registration options
A clear pathway from U7 through U18
Most importantly, players become part of a growing community of female athletes who support and inspire one another both on and off the ice.
